GARP APPOINTS NEW CO-REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR ITS SAO PAULO, BRAZIL CHAPTER

 

New York, London, Beijing, November 3, 2008: The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP: www.garp.org) announced today the appointment of a new Co-Regional Director for the Association’s Sao Paulo, Brazil Chapter.

Danilo Guaitoli, Market Risk Manager at Rabobank International Brasil S/A, will Co-Direct with current Regional Director Manoel Jordao, Head of Operational Risk at Banco Safra. Former Co-Director Dr. Lourenco Miranda, FRM®, has recently relocated.

Newly appointed Co-Regional Director Danilo Guaitoli commented, “My main goal for the chapter is to increase GARP awareness in Brazil and offer local risk professionals the opportunity to network and further educate themselves.”

About Danilo Guaitoli 
Danilo Guaitoli is Market Risk Manager at Rabobank International Brasil S/A.  Danilo Guaitoli has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is pursuing an MBA in finance.  He has 15 years experience in financial markets working in Risk Management and Control (Treasury Management Information) on both on-shore and off-shore markets. 

Mr. Guaitoli was responsible for the market risk department implementation at Safra bank in 1996 (the third bank in Brazil to have a market risk area) working closely with JP Morgan advisors.

Mr. Guatoli’s main focus is on decision supporting to the senior management and trading desks based on his experience in yield curve construction and analysis, derivatives valuation and Scenario analysis.  He has taken specialization courses in derivatives, risk management and financial markets. System Development experience using Access/VBA and Excel/VBA also with the systems implementation like RiskWatch (Algorithmics), MAPS (Prandini & Rabbat, Brazilian Local Developer for market risk systems) and Yield Book (Citigroup – Salomon Brothers).
